Textile industry in India embraces solar power with LONGi modules

The Indian textile industry has taken a significant step towards a greener future with the installation by a manufacturer in Tamil Nadu of a solar power plant deploying LONGi’s high-efficiency Hi-MO 5 solar modules. The project, carried out by EPC Viridis Engineering, is already yielding impressive results, generating substantial amounts of clean energy and delivering substantial cost savings.

The project was commissioned in two phases: 1 MW in May 2023 and 750 kW in February 2024. The plant has a daily generation capacity of 6 units, translating to an impressive  annual saving of ₹1.9 crore on electricity costs, in addition to securing power for the plant’s own use and ensuring steady operation of the facility.
